01.在布施有情之中,法施要勝過財施。而法施之時,對根機相應的眾生傳講的法愈深,功德愈大。若根機不相應,傳講高法沒有功德反而誤導眾生。
Among acts of giving to sentient beings, the giving of the Dharma surpasses material giving. In terms of giving Dharma, the deeper the teaching provided to a sentient being whose capacity matches it, the greater the merit. If the recipient’s capacity doesn’t match, then teaching advanced Dharma brings no merit and might even mislead them.

02.宣說小乘的空性,讓人信解,也勝過教化整個閻浮提中的所有眾生令其行持十善。所以不要耽著人天善道。
Even teaching the emptiness of the Hinayana and making people generate conviction is superior to guiding all sentient beings in Jambudvīpa to practice the ten positive actions. Hence, don’t cling to the Human and Heavenly Vehicle.

03.修行不是為了減少苦苦、增長壞苦,而是三苦(苦苦、壞苦、行苦)都要去減少。都是苦,沒有樂。這樣修行就會有一點點感覺了。
Spiritual practice is not for the sake of reducing the suffering of suffering while increasing the suffering of change. Instead, it is about reducing the three types of suffering: the suffering of suffering, the suffering of change, and the pervasive suffering, as they are all suffering, without happiness. By practicing in this way, you will get a sense of it.

04.善其實就是對治我們的惡業的。比方救生就是對治自己的殺業。殺業沒有消幹凈之前,轉世了之後還是會去殺。一個沒有殺業的人,任何時候都不會去殺生、都不會犯殺業。
Positive actions are actually the antidotes to our negative karma. For example, saving lives is the antidote to one’s karma of killing. Before we have completely eliminated our karma of killing, we might still commit killing in future lifetimes. However, one who has no karma of killing will never take a life at any time.

05.修善業不要增長貪心,其實沒有什麽東西可得,修善行的果報就是苦苦會減少一點,僅此而已。三界六道的眾生,哪裏都是苦的,只是苦少苦多的問題。
When practicing positive actions, don’t let greed grow. In reality, there’s nothing to gain. The karmic result of practicing positive actions is merely a reduction in suffering. That’s it. All sentient beings in the Three Realms and Six Worlds are experiencing suffering; it’s just a matter of less suffering or more suffering.
所以行善沒有什麽好驕傲的,驕傲就增長貪名的心、傲慢心,這樣的話又會帶來痛苦。
So, when practicing positive actions, there is nothing to be proud of. Pride only nurtures the desire for fame and arrogance, which, in turn, brings suffering.

06.世間有漏的善業也是讓眾生墮落的因。從地獄一直到最高的天,一切眾生都在三苦之中,沒有什麽真正的安樂可言。
Worldly positive actions, tainted by attachment, are also the causes for sentient beings’ decline. From h**l to the highest heaven, all sentient beings are experiencing the three types of suffering; there is no real happiness at all.

07.十善業是解脫的基礎,我們行善並不是為了享福,而是為了獲得暇滿人身,有機會修解脫道、菩薩道。
The Ten Positive Actions are the foundation of liberation. We are not practicing the positive actions for the sake of enjoying happiness, but to have a precious human life with the opportunity to practice the path to liberation and the bodhisattva path.

08.用貪心來修善業其實是顛倒,做一點善事就要獲得好的回報——錢財、名利、滿足自己的欲望,其實這不是好事。我們的行善如果都報掉了,那就沒機會修行。
If you practice positive actions with greed, actually you have gone astray. When you do a minor positive action, you expect to get some reward — fame and gain — to satisfy your desires. In reality, this is not good. If all our positive actions are rewarded, we won’t have the opportunity for spiritual practice.

09.所謂的風水都是不重要的,福人自然能夠住到福地。
The so-called Feng Shui is not important. A virtuous person will naturally live in a blessed place.
