United Nations, New York, 18 May 2010 – As new talks between Israel and the Palestinians get under way, a senior United Nations official today called for positive actions on the ground to build confidence, in both Gaza and the West Bank.
Robert Serry, the Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, told the Security Council such actions, including ending the Israeli blockade of Gaza, is crucial given the mistrust among people on both sides and the many political challenges facing their leaders.
